Mount Angel Seminary
FACULTY POSITION IN PHILOSOPHY AT MOUNT ANGEL SEMINARY
The Department of Philosophy in the College of Liberal Arts at Mount Angel Seminary seeks a new faculty member eager to participate in the Seminary’s mission of priestly formation and invites applications for a full-time faculty position in Philosophy, at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor, to begin July or August 2026.
Ideal candidates must be excellent teachers able to offer courses across the entire philosophy curriculum. Although the AOS is open, the successful applicant should have an AOC in Philosophy of Religion and/or Thomistic philosophy. Candidates with additional competency in Philosophy of Science and/or History of Science are particularly encouraged to apply.
Candidates should have a PhD in Philosophy by the time of appointment and must be able to support and promote the mission of Mount Angel Seminary as members of a vibrant and engaged formative community, contributing to a philosophical curriculum grounded in the liberal arts and Christian humanism within our BA (Philosophy) and MA (Philosophy) degree programs.
Mount Angel Seminary, an apostolate of the Benedictine monks of Mount Angel Abbey, is comprised of a Graduate School of Theology and a College of Liberal Arts accredited by the Association of Theological Schools (ATS) and by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU). The Seminary’s primary purpose is the human, spiritual, intellectual, and pastoral formation of men for the Roman Catholic priesthood; its programs adhere to the norms established by the Holy See and the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops as stated in the Program of Priestly Formation (6th ed.). Mount Angel Seminary also offers theological education to qualified laymen and women.
